Royal Children's Hospital

Victoria's Older Persons', Adult, Child and Youth specialist area mental health services are aimed primarily at people with serious mental illness or mental disorder who have associated significant levels of disturbance and psychosocial disability due to their illness or disorder. Whilst there is statewide coverage of specialist mental heath services, governance arrangements result in variation between and across Victorian Public Health Services with regard to service provision. The governance and responsibility for operation of the Victorian Specialist Public Mental Health system exists at a health service level. Each Health Service AMHS sub-page contains performance information regarding the services (across age groups) for which the health service is responsible for providing, and reporting. Information on mental health system performance is accessible via the Area Mental Health Service link within the Victorian Health Service Performance web page.

Royal Children's Hospital provides mental health services to children and young people, and their families who live in the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. The Royal Children's Hospital has governance of the North Western Child & Adolescent Area Mental Health Service
