About this report

This report shows the proportion of ambulance patient transfer times occurring within 40 minutes. This report includes patients transported for both emergency and non-emergency transports (where a vast majority are emergency transports). Totals are for all Victorian hospitals with an emergency department.  

The statewide target is 90 per cent of patients transferred from an ambulance service into the care of the hospital occurs within 40 minutes.

Note(s):

  • Statewide totals exclude Albury Hospital.

Understanding ambulance transfer times

Ambulance patient transfer time is the total time from ambulance arrival at the hospital to the physical transfer of the patient and handover of care to hospital staff.

Target

As part of Statewide and/or National agreements, targets have been set for some key performance indicators. These annual targets are shown to enable comparative achievements to be illustrated.
