About this report

For semi-urgent (Category 2) patients who have waited for longer than 90 days, are ready for surgery, and are still waiting at the end of the reporting period, this report shows the average number of days that patients have waited beyond the clinically recommended time.

Understanding Category 2 elective surgery

Elective surgery is surgery that, in the opinion of the treating clinician, is necessary and admission for which can be delayed for at least twenty-four hours.

For semi-urgent (Category 2) patients, admission within 90 days is desirable due to the clinical condition of the patient.
