For non-urgent (Category 3) patients who have waited for longer than 365 days, are ready for surgery, and are still waiting at the end of the reporting period, this report shows the average number of days that patients have waited beyond the clinically recommended time.
Elective surgery is surgery that, in the opinion of the treating clinician, is necessary and admission for which can be delayed for at least twenty-four hours.
For non-urgent (Category 3) patients, admission within 365 days is desirable due to the clinical condition of the patient.
