About this report

The median response time for ambulances arriving first at acute, time critical incidents. Dispatch Code '1' represents the most urgent dispatches, commonly referred to as 'lights and sirens'.

Dispatch Code '1' incidents are further categorised as Priority '0' (the highest priority incidents), and Priority '1' (the second highest priority incidents).  

Note:

  • Response times are suppressed when the number of responses is < 10

Understanding response times

Response time is measured from the receipt of the triple zero (000) call until paramedics arrive on the scene. Ambulance dispatches are prioritised to respond to those requiring the most urgent assistance.

The median response time is the time within which half of the responses are completed. It may also be referred to as the 50th percentile response time.
