About this report

The proportion of semi-urgent (Category 2) patients admitted for elective surgery within 90 days. Patients who are 'not ready for surgery' and those waiting for a non-surgical procedure are excluded. 

Understanding elective surgery

Elective surgery is surgery that, in the opinion of the treating clinician, is necessary and admission for which can be delayed for at least twenty-four hours.

Target

As part of Statewide and/or National agreements, targets have been set for some key performance indicators. These annual targets are shown to enable comparative achievements to be illustrated.
