About this report

The number of non-urgent (Category 3) patients who waited longer than 365 days for surgery. A patient is classified as overdue if the number of days that the patient waited while they were ready for surgery days exceeded 365 days.

Understanding elective surgery

Elective surgery is surgery that, in the opinion of the treating clinician, is necessary and admission for which can be delayed for at least twenty-four hours.
